You don't have to start over to build something that's yours.

I didn't set out to build another income stream. I set out to build a life that gave me more options.

​

I've spent nearly two decades building a career in marketing, communications, branding, and strategy, working with organizations including Disney, Unilever, Google, and the University of Denver. I've built brands, led strategy, developed content, and helped organizations communicate and connect with the people they serve.

​

I also built a business of my own.

​

And along the way, I learned something that changed the way I think about work, money, and what it really means to feel safe.

 

I built the thing I thought I wanted. Then I learned what it was costing me.

In 2019, I built a thriving online coaching business.

 

From the outside, it looked like freedom. I had clients, revenue, and flexibility. I had created something of my own.  But behind the scenes, I was chasing every dollar and completely drained.  And drained isn't freedom.

 

So when an opportunity came along that aligned with the life I said I wanted, I made a decision that surprised even me.

 

I went back to a 9-to-5.

I didn't go back because I had failed.

 

On paper, the job was everything.  It was a role I loved, with incredible balance, great benefits, and a salary that showed up in full and on time.

 

By every traditional definition, I'd made the right decision. And for a while, it felt that way, but something still felt off.

 

Because I'd learned that alignment isn't only about where you work, it's also about what you own.

 

So in August 2025, I started building again in the margins of a full-time job and a full life.

​

Not because I was trying to escape my career.  I started building again because I wanted something that was mine.

 

Then, on March 4, 2026, the call came.

 

Fifteen minutes. That's all it took.

​

The job I loved, and the income I depended on, was gone.

​

Gone with no warning and no control.

​

Literally, one decision made by leadership changed my financial reality in the blink of an eye.

​

And in that moment, something I'd been building became much more than a side business, it became evidence.

​

The thing I'd been building on the side became evidence that one paycheck is not safety. Options are.

 

I've spent my career learning how expertise creates value.

 

• I'm an MBA with nearly two decades of experience in marketing, communications, branding, and strategy.

• I've worked with brands and organizations including Disney, Unilever, Google, and the University of Denver.

• I've built my career around understanding people, solving problems, creating strategy, communicating value, and turning ideas into action.

• I've also built businesses, experienced the realities of entrepreneurship, returned to traditional employment, and built again.

 

So when I talk about turning expertise into income, I'm not talking about a trend I discovered on the internet.

​

I'm talking about work I've lived.

 

And that experience changed the question I want more professional women to ask.

​

The question you should be asking isn't:  "What else do I need to learn?"

 

Instead ask yourself:  "What do I already know that could create value for someone else?"

​

Your career has given you more than a résumé.  

It's given you skills, experience, perspective, relationships, problem-solving ability, industry knowledge, credibility, and expertise.

 

None of those things disappear when you leave the office.  All of that is yours.

​

❌ You don't have to throw away the career you've built to create something of your own.

❌ You don't have to start over.

❌ You don't have to become an internet personality.

❌ You don't necessarily need another degree or certification.

 

And you don't need to turn your life into one giant side hustle.

​

You can take what you've already learned and find a way to make that value work for you.

​

That's the work I do now.

• More ways to create safety that don't depend entirely on a single employer or paycheck.

And you don't have to build it all at once.

✅ I believe you can want more money without making money the whole point.  I believe you can create a new chapter without deciding the previous one was a mistake.

Reinvention doesn't always mean starting over. Sometimes it means finally recognizing the value you've been carrying all along.

And this isn't just my experience.

I've helped women take what they already know and turn it into tangible business opportunities and income.

Women who have generated thousands of dollars from offers built around their expertise.  Women who have built businesses while managing demanding careers, families, and full lives.  Women who stepped into expertise they had been undervaluing and finally saw what was possible.
